Global Energy Enables Instant Communications for Oil and Gas Exploration with RAMTelecom Auto-mount System

 

Global Energy Ltd. is an oil and gas service company that provides communication systems, wireless gas detection and artificial lift solutions to the oil and gas industry. In 2004, Global Energy was looking for a satellite service provider that could deliver a full suite of broadband satellite services for its oil and gas customers. The company selected RAMTelecom.

"Up until that time we had been using a company out of Atlanta. But we decided to switch to RAMTelecom because they understood our needs better and they proved that they are better able to help us meet the needs of our customers," said Global Energy General Manager, Rex Brigan. "Their satellite service is extremely good. The data is solid. We've never had any issues with that. The voice service is exceptional, and the fax service is excellent. In addition, their services are also more competitively priced, so we are able to provide our customers with a better service at a better price. We have been happy with our decision ever since."

Rex said one of the RAMTelecom solutions that Global Energy is extremely pleased with is the auto-mount antenna.

"We operate in Southeastern Saskatchewan, all of Alberta and Northeastern British Columbia and our customers expect to have the ability to link to remote sites when they are drilling wells in that area," said Rex. "They want to give their people in the field immediate access to complete communication services that will keep them connected to head office. And they want to keep their operating costs low by reducing the amount of travel time and downtime associated with having their people return from a well head to communicate with the rest of the company. The RAMTelecom auto-mount system is proving to be extremely effective for this type of operation.

"After several unsuccessful trials with other platforms, we selected the RAMTelecom system because of its quality architecture, ruggedness and ease of use," Rex added. "We have successfully deployed 11 of these systems for our customers. They connect to the network quickly, are easy to configure and provide complete and instant broadband services that allow our customers to maintain the flow of communications with all their remote sites. Most importantly, this system stays aligned and doesn't need maintenance once it is deployed. Our customers haven't had any problems whatsoever with it and it performs as expected."
